As we are strong believers of the saying: to live life in the present moment, it’s hard not looking back to see how far we’ve come. We like to say: goodbye 2017, hello 2018 and give gratitude for our past.
GOODBYE 2017 – HELLO 2018
February and MARCH – Costa Rica
End of February we had the chance to go to one of our favorite festivals in Costa Rica, ENVISION FESTIVAL. At the end of the trip, we had our first sponsored stay in the fabulous Casa Chameleon in Las Catalinas. This was the moment where everything started growing for us.
APRIL – Iceland and Scotland
We lived in the mountains for 11 years and we’ve always wanted to travel to warm and tropical destinations. Since we moved to California a year and a half ago, for the first time we actually wanted to visit some cold places. Iceland was at top of our list.
Scotland
Although we didn’t have the best weather while in Scotland, we really enjoyed our trip there. It’s a beautiful destination that you should definitely add to your bucket list.
MAY – Florida and Georgia, USA
In May we decided to spend some time on the East Coast with family and friends. It’s not a surprise that Florida has some of the most beautiful beaches.
JUNE – France, Azores, Portugal
On June 1st we left for our first four months long trip. We had just celebrated 12K followers on Instagram. We started the trip in France and our first stop was magical Paris. After that, we went to Bordeaux, Hossegor, Biarritz, St. Tropez, Nice, and Provence. Next was the Azores islands and if you haven’t been there we highly recommend adding it to your 2018 bucket list. End of June we spent in Portugal and honestly, we can’t wait to go back.

JULY – Mozambique, Zanzibar, Seychelles, and Dubai
This month was one of our biggest adventures. We scratched off some incredible places from our bucket list. The beauty of Mozambique and Seychelles are hard to describe. The white sands of Zanzibar and futuristic Dubai were some of our highlights this summer.

AUGUST – Malta, Bulgaria
Malta was one of the best highlights of our trip. It was never on our radar as a place to visit, but now we are so glad we did. We would even go back as one week, not enough time. There is so much to see and do in Malta. That’s why we highly recommend adding it to your 2018 bucket list. If you are looking for a place to stay there, you must check this amazing boutique hotel Ursulino Valletta. Bulgaria is my ( Jana ) home country and although it’s not that popular, trust me it’s worth going.
Bulgaria
SEPTEMBER – Italy
Italy was the end of our 4 months summer trip. We visited Venice, Puglia, Naples, Amalfi Coast and Rome. The one thing challenging for us there was the food. You will say WHAT? That’s right. Remember, we are vegan so Italy was not the best destination food wise for us but we still enjoyed it.
November – Bali
After our 4 month trip we came back to Los Angeles for a month and a half and then in November we took off to Bali. We spent a month there with PACK, a digital nomad retreat. You can read more about it HERE.
Like we said, 2017 was a great travel year for us. We have no idea what this year will look like but these are some of the destinations we would love to see: Aruba, Japan, Greece, Cappadocia, Egypt, Jordan, Madagascar, Morocco, Tahiti, Croatia.
Where do you want to travel in 2018? Lets us know in your comments.
