Don’t let anyone stop you from dreaming, and dream big because dreams do come true. We are a living proof of this. Visiting the Bahamas has been a dream for us and really high on our bucket list. We finally accomplished this dream for our 10 year anniversary in January, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our trip with you. Staying at Sandals Emerald Bay Resort in Exuma, completed this dream.
If you are following our travels, you know that we usually don’t stay at All-Inclusive Resorts. However, we knew about Sandals Resorts for awhile, and the fact that it’s adults only has been calling our names. We wanted to experience and share with you what it is that makes Sandals Resorts such an epitome of luxury in the Caribbean. A highlight for Sandals this year is that they just opened the first of its kind in the Caribbean over-the-water luxury suites at the SANDALS ROYAL CARIBBEAN in Jamaica, that we hope to visit one day.
Before we start, we have to tell you that the Great Exuma is so underrated. It is so unbelievably beautiful and unspoiled with very nice and friendly locals. The water is so blue and divine that we must say it’s perhaps one of the most magnificent we’ve ever seen, considering we’ve been to the Maldives, Fiji, and Hawaii.
Staying at Sandals Emerald Bay
The resort is only a short 15 minute drive from the Exumas airport. It is secluded in a mile-long sublime beach surrounded by 500 tropical acres with the most stunning and perfectly manicured landscape. From the moment you arrive, you will feel like you are in paradise and you will be WOW-ed everywhere you go. Be ready to indulge yourself into an unforgettable vacation.
Sandals Emerald Bay features gourmet dining in world-class restaurants, three fabulous pools, fun activities, excursions, an astonishing spa and for the golf lovers, Greg Norman-designed course. It’s a place where you can fully embrace the relaxed Caribbean state of mind. The exquisite service and breathtaking views of the ocean will make you forget that time exists. Sandals Resort will go above and beyond for you to experience the true meaning of an unforgettable luxury escape.
Sandals Emerald Bay has 249 rooms and suites with exclusive butler service for some. We got a marvelous one bedroom beachfront walkout butler villa with the most sensational ocean view. It was the perfect romantic set up that would melt anyone’s heart. We walked a few steps out of the villa and we had our feet buried in the whitest sand and our eyes in awe with a view beyond our wildest dreams. Our suite had everything including a top-notch butler service who pampered our experience to the next level. He was there to help with every desire and request we had to make sure our stay was memorable.
Sandals Emerald Bay offers eleven restaurants serving various cuisine with unique atmospheres to suit everyone. As you may know, we are vegans and that can be challenging sometimes when we travel. The chefs were kind enough to accommodate our dietary restrictions and our favorite place for dinner was the Bombay Club, absolutely delicious. The resort even has an authentic English pub that stays open until 1:30am for the ones that love nightlife. During the day you must stop by the romantic Café de Paris where you can have assortments of French desserts, crepes, ice cream and more.
No vacation would be complete without enjoying a treatment at the spa. In Sandals Emerald Bay you can unwind at the exclusive and outstanding 16,000 sq. ft Red Lane Spa including 16 rooms.
Tours and Activities
If you are coming to the Bahamas, there’s one thing you can’t miss…the famous swimming pigs. It’s definitely something that you don’t see every day and we highly recommend to experience. The Sandals Emerald Bay can help you book an island hopping tour that includes swimming with pigs, feeding iguanas, snorkeling blue holes and more. That was definitely the highlight of our stay.
At the resort, you can take advantage of many fun water sports activities like tubing, water skiing, snuba, bodyboarding, aquatrikes, snorkeling, hobie cats, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and more.
After the unforgettable adventure tour we had, we couldn’t wait to return to the resort so we wouldn’t miss the heart-stirring sunset on the beach. That was one of our favorite evening activities.
We hope we have inspired and sparked the desire to visit the beautiful islands of Exumas, as well as experiencing the luxury stay at Sandals Emerald Bay. We loved it so much that we are already planning on going back, which says a lot since we usually like going to new places.
