We worked with Apple Vacations and Curaçao on this blog post but all the opinions and views presented here are entirely our own and true.
Let me ask you this: what’s your definition of a tropical paradise? Is it dazzling white sand beaches with pristine turquoise water, breathtaking coastline, laid-back lifestyle, unforgettable sunsets, delicious cuisine? If that sounds right, we have good news for you. We have found one, it’s called Curaçao.
Nowadays people travel more than ever and thanks to travel bloggers and social media they are looking for new less known destinations that aren’t overrun by tourists yet. Curaçao is one of them and we recommend you hurry up and go now before that changes. We had the pleasure to visit there last summer and although we like to tick off new destinations every time we travel the world, there are certain places that we could always visit again. Well, the colorful island of Curaçcao is for sure one of those places.
Now that we are parents we can’t wait to start traveling with our little one and show him the world. We are already thinking to take him with us to Curaçao next year but, to be honest, having a baby is a lot of work (no surprise here) and we don’t have much time to plan, research and book our vacation. Thankfully, we’ve found about Apple Vacations and their all-inclusive deals. What’s great is that everything is taken care of. Each Apple Vacations package includes roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, and roundtrip ground transfers in most destinations. All meals, drinks, entertainment, and tips are included, too! How cool is that? Currently, they have some fantastic deals to Curaçao that you wouldn’t want to miss.
But let me tell you a little bit more why you should visit Curaçao, and why we love it there so much.
This beautiful Caribbean island is part of the ABC Islands ( Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçcao ). Curaçao is a Dutch island that’s being overshadowed by its more popular neighbor island Aruba. However, each year more and more people are coming to this paradise and have quicky prooved its name on the map. It is known for its breathtaking beaches, diverse history, rich culture, and world-class diving, Curaçao is like no other Caribbean island. Another highlight of the island is that it’s located outside of the “hurricane belt” which makes it perfect to visit all year round. The colorful capital Willemstad is a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of charming pastel-colored colonial architecture, shopping, restaurants, and the floating Queen Emma bridge. Curaçcao is also home to 55 diverse cultures, Dutch, English, Spanish, and Papiamentu are widely spoken on the island. Rich heritage and culture are still visible today, seen in the colonial buildings, plantation homes, forts, renowned museums and the Mikvé-Israel Emanuel Synagogue, the Western Hemisphere’s oldest synagogue in continuous use. To top it off, Curaçcao is an actual culinary heaven with a wide variety of sidewalk cafés, gourmet restaurants, international dishes, and local eateries influenced by a melting pot of more than 55 different nationalities.
The best part about Curaçao is that there’s so much to see and do. We were there only for 4 days, and we wish we had more time. We highly recommend going for at least a week so you can fully experience it all. We definitely missed not having the time to visit the small island Klein Curaçao, which looks like a must and we didn’t explore the south side where they say it’s the best diving on the island. Although we wished we had more time, we did and saw the most we possibly could. We explored the historical center of Willemstad where we admired the colorful colonial architecture. We visited many unbelievably beautiful beaches that blew us away. We saw some of the most blue and clear water we’ve ever seen and can confidently say that Curaçao has some world-class beaches.
Here are some of the things you can see and do in Curacao:
- Day trip to Klein Curacao
- Diving
- Surfing
- Visit Fort Beekenburg
- Stroll through historic Willemstad
- Santa Martha viewpoint
- Explore the beaches
These are our top favorite beaches that we recommend while visiting Curacao:
- Kokomo Beach ( with one of the best water swings )
- Playa Porto Marie ( where you can find swimming pigs )
- Cas Abao Beach ( absolutely beautiful and you need to pay a small fee to enter )
- Klein Knip ( one of our favorite small beaches )
- Grote Knip ( the bluest water and fun cliff jumping )
- Playa Jeremi ( not so popular, less crowded and stunning )
- Playa Kalki ( worth the visit )
We can truly say that Curacao is the ultimate dream escape where you will make memories to treasure for a lifetime and experience the real meaning of paradise. Hopefully, we inspired you to visit this wonderful island and book your next trip with Apple Vacations.
